SINDH UNIVERSITY RESEARCH JOURNAL (SCIENCE SERIES) Modeling Of Switched Reluctance Motor

2012
The switched reluctance motor has doubly-salient pole structure which is mainly a reason for its' magnetic saturation and non linear behaviour. The computation of phase instantaneous current and torque is done by numerical integration of non- linear differential equation. In this paper a MATLAB/Simulink software package has been used to simulate the instantaneous phase current and torque waveforms of switched reluctance motor. The presented model is simple, it offers less time and that possible error if occurs can also be reduced by using less input data tables which are usually more if computation is done in MATLAB code.
