A newmacromodeling methodology based onIBIS(Input/Output Buffer Information Specification) models is proposed. IBISmodels areknowntolackinformation regarding powerandground bounce[2][5] resulting in incorrect system level simulations. Thenewmacromodel workswithavailable simulators andproduces models that canbesimulated accurately forSimultaneous Switching Noise(SSN). Todemonstrate thesolution, aCMOSvoltagemodedriver circuit andaMICRONDDR2driver aresimulated using HSPICEandcompared withequivalent circuits created with IBISmodels ofthesamedrivers.
