Synthesis and Properties of tert-Butylphenyl Carbazole Derivatives with High Thermal Stabilities and High Fluorescent Quantum Yields

2010
The novel tert-butylphenyl carbazole derivatives were synthesized by Wittig-Horner reactions. The chemical structures of the derivatives were determined by 1H NMR,IR,MS and EA analyses, and their properties were investigated by UV,PL,TGA,DSC and CV methods. The results showed that ① the synthesized compounds could emit strong fluorescence either in solutions or in solid states and their fluorescent quantum yields ranged from 77% to 54%;② the compounds possessed high thermal stabilities, and their thermal decomposition temperatures and glass transition temperatures were higher than 470℃ and 220 ℃,respectively;③ their maximum absorption and fluorescence emission wavelengths were related to the linking groups.
