Der Einfluß von Stickstoffmangel auf die Lipidausstattung von Impatiens

1972
Summary The amounts of chlorophylls and galactolipids in Impatiens leaves are strongly affected by N-deficiency. The chlorophyll content reached under N-deficiency only 25%, the galacto lipid content however about 50% of that of fully supplied plants by using either freshweight or leaf squares as reference basis. The total amount of all the phospholipids is smaller affected by N-deficiency than the total glycolipids. The highest influence of N-deficiency was on the chlorophyll b, the monogalactolipid and on the phospholipids GPC*) and GPE. The synthesis of the sulfolipid and of the phospholipids GPI and GPS are somewhat increased by N-deficiency. Among the photosynthetic pigments and lipophilic quinones the amounts of β -carotin, plastohydroquinone and α -tocopherol showed a smaller influence than the other pigments and quinones. Therefore the functional concentrations of pigments and lipoquinones in chloroplasts isolated from N-deficient plants are not the same as in normal chloroplasts. The possibility is discussed that β -carotin and the quinones, which are present in excess amounts in N-deficient chloroplasts, are stored in the osmophilic plastoglobuli of the stroma.
