Application of full-covered self-expanding removable metal stents implantation in treatment of bile duct anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation

2014
Objective To evaluate the application of full-covered self-expanding removable metal stents (FCSERMS) implantation in treatment of bile duct anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation.Method Three cases of bile duct anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation with inefficient multiple plastic stents implantation accepted FCSERMS implantation treatment.Result Technical success was achieved in all the 3 cases and no therapeutic complication occurred.Clinical symptoms were alleviated remarkably and serum conjugated bilirubin was decreased to the normal level one week after stent implantation. Two FCSERMS were removed at 7 months and 4 months respectively and ERC showed bile duct patency with no stenosis. Conclusion FCSERMS implantation in the treatment of bile duct anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation is effective and safe.
