Theory of self-transducer photoacoustic spectroscopy

Abstract A self-transducer method of photoacoustic signal detection is proposed, based on piezo- or pyroelectric properties of the sample. An expression for the potential difference between surface electrodes is found, which depends on optical, acoustic and thermal properties of the sample and intensity and modulation frequency of the light.
