EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT CHEMICALS AND TRUNK GIRDUNG ON P({EHARVEST BERRY DROP AND QUAUTY IN BEAUTY SEEDLESS GRAPES (VlTfS V1NfFERA L.)

2003
The experiment was conducted to study the effect of benzyl adenine (500 ppm), Kinetin (300 ppm), gibberellic acid (75 ppm), ethrel (500 ppm), potassium nitrate (1%) and trunk girdling on preharvest berry drop and quality of Beauty Seedless grapes. It is concluded from the results that benzyl adenine 500 ppm or gibberellic acid 75 ppm applied at colour break stage can be used for promoting colour development and checking preharvest berry drop. The application of ethrel 500 ppm or gibberellic acid 75 ppm or trunk girdling at veraison stage can be used for increasing total soluble solids and decreasing acidity of grape juice.
