Dielectric properties and electrical conductivity studies on Nd3Ga5O12 single crystals

Abstract Dielectric constant (C) and dielectric loss (tan 6) of garnet (Nd3Ga5O12) crystal have been measured in the frequency range from 100 Hz and 100 KHz and in the temperature range from room temperature to 400°C. AC conductivity was calculated from the data on e and tan δ. The room temperature dielectric constant measured at 106 Hz is 12.2. The DC conductivity as a function of temperature is also measured. The dielectric behaviour and the results on the conductivity measurements are discussed in the light of the existing data.
