A survey on the effect of agronomic practices on the yield of hybrid sorghum under rainfed conditions in Dharwar District

1975
Mean yield differences between red loam and black loam soils, two ploughings and three ploughings, 30 and 45 cm row spacing, first fortnight of June and first fortnight of July sowing, two and three inter-cultivations were not significant in 't' tests. However, the mean yield differences due to application of 21-25 cart loads and less than 15 carts of farmyard manure, 75 kg and 100 kg nitrogen per hectare were significant. The seed rate of 7.5 kg used recorded an average yield of 1812 kg against an average yield of 1592 kg recorded with a seed rate of 10-12.5 kg per hectare
