Interdisciplinary Training Models for Shipping Talents in the Universities

With the advent of the new shipping era, shipping industrial requires more talents on both quantity and quality. Although shipping training in Wuhan has formed a mature professional education system, its traditional methods can no longer meet the needs of shipping market in this new era, especially the need for high-level shipping talents. As a result, universities must innovate their cultivation models to achieve a comprehensive improvement of the quality and applicability of their shipping talents. Accordingly, this paper explores the interdisciplinary training models for shipping talents in the universities. It gives a literature review on the previous researches on shipping talent cultivation. Then, it analyzes the existing situation and points out the problems in shipping college academic education from the perspective of talents cultivation in universities of Wuhan. Based on that, it proposes two interdisciplinary shipping talents training models and their supporting systems for undergraduates and postgraduates respectively, which provide practical references for the shipping training in Wuhan.
