Competing with technology in 8-bit microprocessors

Abstract This article describes the offensive and defensive actions taken by firms competing in the high technology 8-bit microprocessor industry. The focus is on competition at the product market level within the United States and the implications that these interactions have for competition in the 1990s. Defensive and offensive strategic actions are identified and their implications discussed.
