Computer Control Design of Active Power Filter Based on the Energy Shaping Control Principle

2009
Active Power Filter (APF) is useful device to compensate the harmonics which are caused by the nonlinear load, and its performance index mainly depends on the parameter design and structure of controller. In order to solve this problem, new Hamilton model of active power filter is introduced and the Energy Shaping Control Principle is used to design controller which corrects the output current waveform from three-phase three-wire shunt active power filter and further enhances load current waveforms. In this control strategy, the Energy Shaping Controller is used to guarantee dynamic stability of distribution power system caused by load harmonics. The controller design procedure is analyzed in detail. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed control method.
