Accumulation of diazinon, fenthion and fenitrothion by killifish from mixtures of the three pesticides

1995
Differences in the accumulation of diazinon, fenthion and fenitrothion by killifish (Oryzias latipes) at three concentration levels of mixtures of the pesticides were studied. For diazinon and fenthion, the higher the concentration levels, the longer the time required to reach plateaus. The bioconcentration factors (BCF) had a tendency to increase with an increase in concentration level for all pesticides. One‐way analysis of variance was carried out to detect significant differences in the BCF of each pesticide among the concentration levels. There were significant differences (p < 0.05 or p < 0.01) after 6–48 hr except diazinon at 6 hr and fenitrothion at 48 hr.
