Angular-momentum population of excited H atoms produced by photodissociation of H2
1992
Abstract Time-dependent Balmer-α intensity excited by the photodissociation of H 2 has been measured at 74.5 nm using pulsed synchrotron radiation under the single-bunch operation of a storage ring, from which the angular-momentum population has been obtained of H( n = 3) as a dissociation fragment. The angular-momentum population obtained, which is not very localized, is discussed in terms of the symmetry properties of relevant electronic states, which lead to a wide range of photodissociative excitation processes of H 2 to produce H(3 l ).
