Dynamic changes of growth, chloroplast lipid peroxidation and ATPase activity of Taiwan Zoysia matrella under light and salt stress.

2009
After the treatment of strong radiation and extreme shade, different light types of Taiwan Zoysia matrella were treated with the low-light,low-light + 0.5 mol/L NaCl stress.24 days later, the sun-type growth tended to that of the shade-type,and the original shade-type turfgrasses suffered seriously, resulting in partly wilting.Under all treatments, chloroplast soluble protein, chloroplast MDA continued to rise, compared with low light, light and salt stress resulted in even greater rise.Activity of chloroplast Na+-K+-ATPase under low-light had no major changes, but the sun-type under light and salt stress continued to rise, the shade-type under light and salt stress reached the maximum on the 16th day,but began to drop on the 24th day.Ca2+-ATPase activity of the sun-type under light, light and salt stress continued to rise;Ca2+-ATPase acticity of the shade-type under low-light showed the highest on the 16th day, then declined.Under low-light + salt stress,Ca2+-ATPase activity reached the maximum on the 8th day, then declined. These results show that:the sun-type has a worse salt-tolerance than the shade-type,the physical performance is aggravated chloroplast membrane lipid peroxidation, declined regulatory function of Na+,K+ transmembrane and dropped membrane stability.
