[Retinopathy of prematurity: screening and therapeutic indications].

: The retinopathy of prematurity is a proliferative disease of the retinal blood vessels, occurring in the prematurely born babies. As the life support conditions for the prematurely born babies have improved, the retinopathy of prematurity has became a problem, both for the neonatologists and the ophthalmologists. This paper discusses the pathogeny, the risk factors, the classification criteria and especially the methods for the screening and therapy of this disease.
