Small children's highchair and method of operation

A small children's highchair includes a stand frame, a seat assembly and a side segment. The seat assembly includes a seat support frame which is movably connected to the stand frame, and a rear and a front seat part, which are each connected to the seat support frame, wherein the front seat part to the seat support frame or the side segment at two points is connected to a vertical distance. The side segment is pivotally connected to the seat support frame about a pivot axis and is rotatable between a collapsed state and a deployed state. Rotation of the side segment in a folding direction drives a sliding rearward displacement of the front seat part relative to the rear seat part. In addition, a downward movement of the seat assembly to a predetermined lower position, while the side segment in the folded state remains to trigger unlocking of the stand frame.
