Apparatus and method for sensing drowsy driving

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for detecting drowsy driving. According to the present invention, the apparatus for detecting drowsy driving comprises a light source, a first camera, a second camera, and an operating unit. The light source emits light to a driver. The first camera shoots driver′s pupils by sensing the light reflected from the driver. The second camera is arranged to be separated from the first camera to shoot the driver′s face by sensing the light reflected from the driver. The operating unit recognizes the driver′s face as three-dimensional solid images by generating depth information from the light sensed by the second camera and determines whether or not the driver nods off by sensing the position of the driver′s face recognized by the second camera and by sensing whether or not the pupils recognized by the first camera are open or closed.
