The Analysis of Synchronization Performance in TDM-Based and Packet-Based Transmission

The article presents some results based on the probabilistic approach, quality assessment of synchronous and asynchronous transport technologies in the plesiochronous network mode. In particular, the results of slippage frequency evaluation in the network elements and their accumulation in the reference connections recommended by ITU-T, as well as the estimation of packet collisions and delay accumulation depending on the load (traffic) in the transmission path are presented. The results were confirmed by computer simulation and measurements.
