Ability of problem-solving and its influencing factors of nursing students with different nationalities in Xinjiang

Objective To analyze the ability of problem-solving and its influencing factors of nursing students with different nationalities in Xinjiang .Methods A total of 210 junior or undergraduate internship nursing students of the three nationalities were surveyed and were randomly divided into three first class hospitals in Urumqi.Their abilities of problem-solving and its influencing factors were analyzed .Results The positive problem orientation scores of nursing students from Han nationality , Hui nationality and Uygur nationality were （9.4 ±3.2）, （9.6 ±0.7） and （8.6 ±2.8）, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant （F=3.010, P=0.019）.The rational problem solving score of nursing students from Uygur nationality was （21.5 ± 5.6）, which was both significantly higher than （20.2 ±6.6） and （19.0 ±4.1） of nursing students from Han nationality and Hui nationality （F=5.114, P=0.003）.The impulsivity or carelessness style scores of nursing students from Han nationality , Hui nationality and Uygur nationality were （13.1 ±3.2）, （13.4 ±4.1） and （12.0 ±2.0）, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant （F=4.991, P =0.004）.The avoidance style scores of nursing students from Uygur nationality , Hui nationality , and Han nationality were （11.2 ±2.8）,（10.0 ±4.0）, （10.6 ±2.1）, and the difference was statistically significant （F=6.765, P=0.001）.The influencing factors of problem solving abilities of nursing students from different nationalities were education level , the level of likelihood of the major , whether had the experience of critical thinking or not and the satisfaction of clinical teaching methods .Conclusions In the clinical teaching process , teachers should adopt the targeted , effective and flexible measures to train the problem-solving ability of nursing students with different nationalities .Thus, we can strengthen the training results and improve the satisfaction .At the same time, we should add to self-learning and critical thinking to improve problem solving abilities .
