1989
Nine variables were analyzed by the method of basic components to find out the interrelations of population structure of Z. marina from different regions of the Black Sea and granulometric composition of the bottom sediments. The highest number of zostera sprouts was found in the populations growing on the bottom sediments containing large amount of fine-grained particles. The length of the plants is inversely proportional to their number. The sprouts reach essential sizes in the populations distributed on the bottom sediments, where the finest particles (dust sand) predominate. The number of daughter sprouts decreases with the increase in the length of maternal plants.
