ESR-study of copper complexes of copolymers of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide and methacrylic acid and their amino acid derivatives

1993
Formation of complexes of copolymers of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide and methacrylic acid, and its glycine and β-alanine derivatives, with Cu 2+ ions in aqueous solutions was studied by ESR. It was found that the composition and structure of complexes depend considerably on the content and nature of the functional groups, the degree of their neutralization, the molecular mass of ligands, and the initial ratio of components. It was shown that copolymers of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide and methacrylic acid form carboxylate complexes, and aminoacid derivatives of methacrylic acid can form chelate structures as well
