Method for metallizing a surface of a solid support

The invention relates to a method for metallizing at least one surface of a solid support, said method comprising the steps of: i) contacting said surface with a solution comprising: - at least a vinylpyridine polymer; and - a solvent; ii) removing the solvent from the surface in contact with said solution; iii) attachment of the polymer to said radiative surface treatment with a light source by exposing said surface to an exposure energy in the range of 0.1 to 100 J.cm-2, to obtain a solid support whose surface is functionalized with at least one layer of said polymer; and iv) plating the functionalized surface of said solid support to obtain a solid support whose surface is metallized.
