Examination of Chemical Reaction through Continuous Measurement of Specific Dielectric Constant On Condensation of Benzaldehyde with Acetone

1984
The condensation of benzaldehyde with acetone was enforced on various conditions under continuous measurement of dielectric constant. When much amount of acetone than the reaction reported by Drake and Allen were used, the condensation were scarcely progressed, but the use of 15% solution of sodium hydroxide progressed the reaction speedy than the use of 10% solution. From the results it was presumed that the condensation progressed through the formation of a complex salt.
