Follow - up study on life quality and prognosis of heart failure patients with reduced and normal left ventricular ejection fraction

Objective To evaluate the life quality and prognosis of the heart failure patients with reduced and normal ejection fraction.Methods One hundred and twelve patients hospitalized of the chronic heart failure were recruited.Aaccording to the CHF guideline of the European Society of Cardiology in 2007,they were divided into two groups,one was heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF,n =80),the other was heart failure with normal ejection fraction (HFnEF,n =32).Follow -up for discharged CHF patients was 6 months.Follow - up index included mortality rate,readmission rate and the quality of life ( SF - 36 score).Results After 6 months of follow - up,the mortality rate,readmission rate and the quality of life had no significant difference between the two groups.Conclusions The life quality and prognosis of heart failure patients with reduced and normal ejection fraction are similar.
