Performance Analysis of Pilot-aided Synchronization in High-Speed Mobile Channel

2021
The transmission channel of satellite communication commonly has strong mobile character because of high-speed relative motion between receiver and transmitter. In this paper, the performance of common pilot-aided synchronization method is studied for high-speed mobile transmission, and its anti-Doppler ability is analyzed in theory. Firstly, the models of strong high-speed mobile channel and pilot-aided synchronization in satellite communication are established, and then the correlation peak is calculated when the received pilot matches the local pilot. Further, we derive the mathematical relationship between the pilot length, symbol rate, and the maximum anti-Doppler frequency offset, and simultaneously analyze the ability of different methods to resist channel noise. Finally, simulation and results demonstrate the validity of theory analysis, which show that the analysis results in this paper provide theoretical support for the guidance synchronization parameter setting in a high-speed mobile channel.
