The Rayleigh-Brillouin light scattering in the chalcogenide glasses of the Ge-Sb-S system in the (Sb 2 S 3 ) х ×(GeS 2 ) 100-х (х = 0-50) set is investigated. The longitudinal hypersonic velocity, the high-frequency longitudinal elastic modulus, the extinction coefficient at the wavelength l = 0.6328 μm, and the Landau-Placzek ratio are determined. The Landau-Placzek ratio for the glassy alloys of the Ge-Sb-S system depends strongly on the average coordination number and becomes maximal at Z = 2.67.
