A metformin compound or a composite of the metformin and etanercept (product name: Enbrel) have an excellent effect in maintaining the thickness of small intestines and the length of large intestines in a state similar to a normal state, an excellent effect in controlling or reducing the activity of IL-17 and TNF-a, and an excellent effect in promoting or increasing the activity of IFNr, thereby able to be practically used as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating autoimmune diseases including the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases.
