Determination of density of fruit tree bark beetle species (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) and biological data of important species harmful to cherry orchards in central Anatolia region.

2013
This study was carried out in central Anatolia region in 2008–2010. Surveys were conducted in Isparta (Uluborlu, Merkez (Sav), Atabey), Afyon (Sultandagi) and Cankiri (Eldivan) cherry orchards. In this study, species and density of bark beetles were determined in cherry orchards. Investigations were done by using red sticky traps (Rebell rosso) to determine important Scolytus species and densities in the cherry orchards in Central Anatolia. Traps baited with ethanol were used to determine flying period and population density of adult shothole borer species. In this study other than Scolytus rugulosus Muller, Xyleborus dispar Fabricius, Lymantor coryli Perris and Taphrorychus villifrons Dufour were observed. Scolytus rugulosus was as an important species and some of the biological data of this species were determined.
