Synthesis and magnetic studies of the π-d ferrimagnet TTF[ Cr(NCS)4(1,10'-phenanthroline)] , TTF = tetrathiafulvalene

A new synthesis route to the π-d ferrimagnet TTF[Cr(NCS) 4 (1,10'-phenanthroline)] is described along with recent magnetic investigations. In particular the variable frequency AC magnetisation of the protonated and fully deuterated samples indicate no frequency dependence and a T c of 8.7 K. Single crystal heat capacity and muon spin relaxation experiments show a second magnetic transition at 2.4 K.
