Human Skeletal Remains from Cave viii/28

2002
Human skeletal remains were found in the excavation of Cave VIII/28 ('Cave of the Sandal'), excavated by Hanan Eshel and Boas Zissu during the Surveys and Excavations in the northern Judean Desert—1993 (Eshel and Zissu 2000). The bones were well preserved, yet were so scattered in the cave that it was impossible to sort them into individuals, nor was it possible to accurately attribute some of the bones to well-defined layers in the cave. The layers from which human bones were unearthed were dated to the Chalcolithic/Early Bronze Age I and the Roman period (Eshel and Zissu 2000). Age and Sex Estimation
