Andar sobre a terra: constituição de lugares, coletivos e espaços-tempos karo-arara

2019
Longhouse, rubber estate and village are spaces triggered by the Karo-Arara for talking about their family trajectories and the history of the people. I pretend to show how such spaces can be understood in two different ways: on the one hand, as particular places which are constituted by (and constitute) kin groups; on the other hand, as contrasting space-times which distinguish specific socialities ideally experienced on those space-times. Such space-times constitute a broader collective, something like the Karo-Arara people.  The wanderings on the river Machado region are fundamental if we want to understand the constitution of places, space-time and collectives.
