Photocatalytic reduction of wastewater containing Cr(VI) by photocatalyst Pt modified TiO_2 pillared bentonite

2009
The Pt modified TiO2 pillared catalyst prepared through photodeposition method was applied to the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) containing in wastewater. The effects of pH value, various initial concentrations of Cr(Ⅵ),organic chemicals on the removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ) have been investigated. The result indicated that the dosage of Pt modified TiO2 pillared bentonite is 6 g/L,the pH value is 3.0,Cr(Ⅵ) with 0.48 mmol/L initial concentration, using the irradiation of 12 W ultraviolet lamp for 75 min,Cr(Ⅵ) in wastewater can reach the national discharge standard. The photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) follows L-H kinetic equation. The composite catalyst has good sedimentation ability and preferable reuse performance.
