This study aimed to estimate the effects of different levels of feed intake and urea on rumen pH, concentrations of ammonia and volatile fatty acids, volume and the rumen liquid rate of passage in bovine fed sugar cane plus urea supplemented with rice meals. Fourteen crossbred steers 290 kg live weight fi tted with ruminal and abomasal fi stula were used. They were fed at two levels of feed intake, lower (52,50 g / W 0.75 ) and high level of feed intake 78,75 g / W 0.75 ) and two levels of urea 1 and 1,5 %, respectively. Co- EDTA estimated the liquid fl ows. Each experimental period lasted 28 days; the design of this study is randomized blocks according to a factorial arrangement. The results showed that pH of rumen fl uid decrease as fed intake increasing the level of feed intake and the urea, the ruminal ammonia concentration increased (P 0.05) among treatments in terms of rate of outfl ow of the liquid
