Compositions and methods for treating retroviral infections

At least one nucleic acid (I) comprising or consisting of, or (ii) encoding a nucleic acid comprising or consisting of a sequence selected from the group consisting of: 1) SEQ ID NO: 1, sEQUENCE IDENTIFIER NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3 and SEQ ID NO: 4 and 2) a sequence derived from SEQ ID NO: 1 to 4 by substitution, deletion or insertion of at least one nucleotide, provided that a nucleic acid consisting of the sequence derived from SEQ ID NO: 1 to 4 is responsible for inducing expression of HIV-1 in infected cells latent HIV-1, for use in the treatment of asymptomatic patients infected with a retrovirus.
