Research on control method of virtual synchronous generator for a bidirectional DC-AC converter

The control system of virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is studied for a three-phase PWM bidirectional converter in this paper. According to the rotor motion equation of the synchronous generator, the primary frequency modulation and the delay characteristics of the reactive power regulation, control strategy of the VSG is analyzed emphatically. At the same time, the principle of bidirectional power flow of the converter and its realization method are discussed. The simulation results about off-grid mode and grid-connected mode show that control method of virtual synchronous generator realizes the bidirectional power flow control for the three-phase DC-AC converter.
