associated with logSTv (b 6 SE: 0.07 6 0.03, p 5 0.01), logLAKE (b 6 SE: 0.16 6 0.09, p 5 0.09), and inversely associated with logE/A ratio (b 6 SE: 0.09 6 0.05, p 5 0.06); dairy products were inversely associated with logSmv (b 6 SE: 0.13 6 0.07, p 5 0.06). Finally, alcohol drinking, was inversely associated with logE/Emv ratio (b 6 SE: 0.08 6 0.04, p 5 0.05) and logLAKE (b 6 SE: 0.20 6 0.09, p 5 0.02). Conclusions: This work demonstrated for the first time in the literature another potential protective mechanism of Mediterranean diet and main food groups on the progression of HF, through the improvement of systolic and diastolic function.
