Electrochemical performance of carbon surface coated AB5 -electrode

Carbon surface coated AB5-electrode was prepared by layered coated method,with foam nickel as current collector,AB5-alloy and activated carbon as slurry,respectively. The electrode was analyzed by galvanostatic charge-discharge,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,linear polarization and cyclic voltammetry tests. The electrochemical performance of AB5-electrode was improved by carbon surface coating,the discharge specific capacity was 292. 6 mAh / g and capacity retention was 95. 90% after 100 cycles at 0. 2 C in 1. 0 ~ 1. 5 V. The high rate discharge ability was 82. 5% under the current of 1 500 mAh / g. Compared to AB5-electrode of none carbon surface coating,it was improved 1. 6 mAh / g,5. 52% and 20. 92%,respectively.
