Neutron‐rich nuclei produced in multinucleon‐transfer reaction

2008
A progress report on neutron‐rich chromium‐to‐nickel isotopes is presented including the new half‐lives of 60Cr, 60gMn, and 68Ni of 0.57(6), 51(6), and 19+3−6 s, respectively. The chromium and nickel isotopes show again larger β‐decay rates than predicted. The meaurement of continuous β‐spectra has been used for the element assignment. For 66Co, from the β‐endpoint energy a Qβ=9.7(5) MeV was derived. The 68Ni experiment was achieved by effective copper suppression with a bunched ion‐source of the GSI mass‐separator. The production of light isotopes in the reaction 50Ti+238U close to the Coulomb barrier was measured, however, the expected mass‐transfer in quasi‐fission could not be traced.
