A new technique to excite Zn atoms to triplet Rydberg states

A new method of two-stage excitation of Zn atoms to triplet Rydberg states is proposed. At the first stage of excitation the two-photon transitions are applied within three-level scheme with following relaxation to metastable states, while one-photon transitions to Rydberg states are employed at the second stage.
