Study of the thermal transformations in the elaboration of a soda–lime glass for containers with cuban natural zeolit

2007
Zeolites are aluminosilicates of frame structure and they constitute fresh rocks coming from the transformations of the volcanic glasses. In Cuba different zeolite manifestations of importance exist highlighting among them that of the location “Tasajeras”, in the central province of Cuba. The lack of feldspar of appropriate quality for the glass industry has served from stimulus to the realization of this work. The reactions of formation of silicates were analyzed using thermal studies and comparative the traditional glass with feldspar results and the zeolite dates, being discussed its particularities later on. The specificities of the physical–chemical behavior of the mixtures vitrificables allow to infer improvements during the trial in the processes of elaboration of the glass and sensitive energy savings industrial.
