Accurate Prediction Of Induced Currents In Electric And Magnetic Brain Cortex Stimulation

The efficiency of magnetic coils in brain cortex stimulation has been evaluated : the method presented in this paper allows an accurate computation of the current induced by the time variation of the magnetic flux into a discretized model of human brain. The method has been extended to the analysis of the stimulation by means of an array of coils and to the evaluation of the combined effects of magnetic and electric stimulation, in order to improve focusing of the electric currents into the regions of interest.
