The present study is intended to find out how the personality coaching program affects the personality of the youth. To this end, the personaliyt coaching program was configured by applying Do Mihyang (2014) CPA Coaching Model and Coaching Conversation Model to the character sub-virtues of KEDI. For this study, a total of 30 middle school students (15 for experimental group, 15 for control group) were sampled from G, H and J middle schools in Y city. The personality coaching program was conducted on the experimental group of 15 students once a week for 90 minutes from August 10 to October 12, 2015, namely a total of 10 times. For the effectiveness analysis of the personality coaching program, KEDI character test was conducted on both experimental and control groups before and after the study, and the collected data were quantitatively analyzed by using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The results obtained based on the study are as follows: Personality index of experimental group showed a significant difference in all 10 sub-virtues. Comparing individual differences was meaningless, considering that the difference of changes of each sub-virtue leaves no impact in the total score of each character virtue. In conclusion, even though the program was conducted on a small experimental group of 15 people and in a short period of 10 weeks, it was found that there was a significant improvement in the character index of experimental group of the character coaching program and that the character coaching program had a positive effect on fostering the character of the youth. Given the finding that the personality coaching program has a positive effect on the personality of youth, the present study has a meaning in that it provides a new direction for the personality coaching program to overcome the limitations of the personality education.
