This study demonstrates that advanced cancer patients with dependent children in the home are at a higher risk for depression than patients without dependent children. VI. Implications for Research, Policy, or Practice. Implications of this study include the need for further research on the impact of parenting on advanced cancer patients, and better understanding of the type of support needed by advanced cancer patients with children.
