Retracted: Comparative study of nasal polyp with Bawseer–e-Anff in Persian medicine sources

The nasal polypisa mass caused by edema and outflow of sinus mucosa into the nasal cavity and the standard treatment includes both medical and surgical procedures. The present research was a descriptive review study. At first, the data were remaining waste glands from the specialized textbooks of the ear, nose and throat, as well as the in bawaseer-e-anff authentic Persian medicine textbooks using the nasal polyp keyword. Then the related information was indexed, categorized and then summarized after content analysis. Definition of bawaseer-e-anff and its clinical symptoms in Persian medicine, especially its phlegmatic type, is very similar to the symptoms of nasal polyps in modern medicine.However, there is no known cause for the nasal polyp in modern medicine, while our physicians have mentioned the retention of melancholic blood in the nasal vessels as one of the causes of bawaseer-e-anff. Considering the similarity of the definition and clinical symptoms of bawaseer-e-anff with nasal polyp, these two diseases seem to be similar in nature.
