Compositions of natural origin for treating physiological disorders and diseases caused by pathogens of fruits and vegetables after harvesting, and a method for its application, compositions which contain as essential active ingredient a mixture of thymol, eugenol and cinnamaldehyde and may optionally contain as secondary principle a mixture of cuminaldehyde, geraniol, vanillin, borneol, menthol, acetol, terpineol, limonene, and glycosides essences of mustard and jasmine, to all of which an essence or extract containing salicylic acid or certain derivatives thereof is added (esters or amides). The composition may also contain a food-acceptable surfactant, oligosaccharides of different natural origin and other ingredients such as chitosan, phosphorous acid (or its salts) fisiosanitarios products, pesticides or synthetic antioxidants. The method of application of these compositions consists in incorporating them into toilets or waxes which are usually used in post harvest fruit and vegetable treatments.
