Influence of Lymph Diversion on the Gastric Secretory Response to Feeding

SummaryThoracic duct lymph diversion decreased the gastric secretory response to feeding by 59%. When lymph was subsequently able to flow per via naturalis, the secretory response was restored to normal levels. Preliminary fractionation of lymph suggests that a secretagogue may be carried in the lymph, perhaps gastrin.
