Objectives: Acute viral bronchiolitis is one of the most common and expensive illnesses causing hospitalization of infants and young children. In 2014, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) published an updated practice parameter on the diagnosis and management of bronchiolitis to reflect the large body of evidence showing lack of benefit of specific therapies or testing to patient outcomes or length of stay.
