Technology Spillover Effects of Importing and FDI——An Empirical Analysis of Different Regions' Technological Progress in China

Importing and FDI are the two main channels for international technology spillover. In this paper, the writers of this paper improve the CH model by incorporating FDI into it, and then use panel data to analyze international technology spillover effects of trade and FDI in the east, middle and west parts of China. Our results show that both importing and FDI make contributions to the raise of TFP; however, there are obvious differences in the rate of contribution to the technological progress in different regions.
