Principles of Taxation Law 2019 [12th Edition]

2019
This is the 12th edition of a book prepared by a group of experienced tertiary tax teachers with the goal of making the Australian income tax system accessible and comprehensible to students. The book is written from the perspective of the current law and proposed changes. While the focus of tax reform in recent years has been in the area of international tax, 2018 saw reform measures move back to the domestic stage. Most notably, from 1 July 2018, individual tax cuts were introduced with up to 10 million taxpayers affected. We also saw the introduction of a new Low and Middle Income Tax Offset and the requirement for foreign online retailers to register and account for GST on sales of low-value imported goods. These are just a few of the recent changes to Australia's tax system that are discussed in this edition of Principles of Taxation Law.
